Why use green flooring?  There are a number of reasons why this is becoming the fastest replacement flooring in the building industry. First, it promotes environmental stewardship by protecting our natural resources, and helps create a healthy environment for future generations. Green flooring is non-toxic, lasts longer, beautiful to look at and durable.

There are ten attributes that qualify a flooring to be considered 'green.'  They are:

  • Social Responsibility
  • Manufacturer Processes
  • Distribution Methods
  • Renewable
  • Recycled Content
  • Recyclebility
  • Toxicity
  • Lifecycle
  • Installation
  • Maintenance

There is a variety of materials used for green flooring. These natural, non-toxic, environmentally materials are from renewable sources - bamboo, cork, natural linoleum, wood and stone are just a few examples. And to make it even sweeter, these materials are cost effective, easy to install, and provide a wide range of colors and designs.
